Maddie Hopfield (she/her/hers) is a New York City-based dancer, performer, and taiko drummer. She is a queer, hapa-identifying Japanese American interested in the beauty and hilarity of the performing body, and the construction of our deepest fantasies and desires. She is a former member of Concept Kinetics, a house and street dance company under the direction of Cricket (James Colter). Currently, she performs taiko with the NYC-based group Taikoza, as well as Casual Fifth, a Philadelphia-based dance and taiko ensemble. She has shown her work at LifeWorld, Urban Movement Arts, The Art Room Studio, The Window Room, and Vox Populi. As a dancer she has collaborated with Kayla Bobalek, Julia Bryck, Marin Day, and performed with Maya Lee-Parritz, the Leah Stein Dance Company, Philly Kerplop (Vince Johnson), Jillian Jeatton, Amalia Raye Wiatr Lewis, Lily Kind, Lillian Ransijn, and Concept Kinetics. She graduated from Bard College in 2017 with a BA in Dance and Written Arts.
